I resonate with art that blends realism and fantasy by extrapolating colour and form, to portray a moody vibe. The goal of my work is to communicate an emotion that is impossible to describe in words, but that someone can pick up and connect with based on the colour, composition and forms presented.

I paint a wide range of subjects - whatever strikes an emotional chord. It is often unique and dramatic lighting, combined with the nostalgic elements of a scene that can trigger this response.

The ideas for my paintings are like fish. I use meditation, nature, dreams and music to help me lure through the misty rivers of my subconscious. The tastiest fish that I catch become my feast for the evening, while the others are thrown back into the river, to be the conquest of another day. 

​

I paint with oils and let my mood dictate a method of application that's unique to the moment - various levels of force, energy, volume, and looseness. I mix unconventional colours together to create something that feels beautiful and fresh. I paint en plein air, from photos, and from pure imagination.​​
